#JEXIT. I will not vote for you unless you fix your antisemitic progressive posturing. I need to see you accepting responsibility for your dalliance with Kat re: AIPAC. Whether you 100% agree with AIPAC or not, demonization has the effect of making a Jewish lobby look like an evil cartel. I watched you compromise our heritage for political expediency during the debate in Evanston. My stomach is turned; I have voted Democratic since I turned 18. I'm 70, and the Democrats have a serious problem that leadership is not addressing. The "big tent" we built is now pushing Jews out. Fix it, or lose my vote.
So you think the Democratic party should be open to the Republicans then? AIPAC is a lobbying group that attacks other Jews (like ones who work with J Street). The CEO bragged about having "lifelines" within Trump's cabinet such as Marco Rubio. They often use their money to help Republicans defeat Democrats in tight elections.
If you are supposedly a Democrat, then why are you putting your support for AIPAC in specific (because Daniel is already endorsed by J Street) over the rest of America which is currently being destroyed by the tyrants in the White House? The same tyrants, like Marco Rubio, that AIPAC OPENLY SAID that they cultivated influence with...
AIPAC is the ultimate shanda for the goyim, because it acts as a fifth column of sorts in American politics.
AIPAC does not speak for most American Jews and it is not, in any way, “antisemitic progressive posturing” to condemn AIPAC for its Machiavellian tactics.
AIPAC does everything imaginable to demonize itself, as evidenced by the fact that it endorsed many Members of Congress who supported Trump’s attempt to overthrow the United States government on January 6, 2021.
I understand being concerned by increasing antisemitism in the U.S. and Europe. Hate crimes against Jews are a specific significant problem.
And progressive activists and politicians, including Biss have been against all PAC spending since Citizens United changed the rules twenty years ago. It is central to progressive attacks on the corrupting influence of money on politics and the ways that corporations and the wealthy turn their fortunes into political power.
It’s not antisemitism to be against AIPAC. At this moment, AIPAC is the PAC most involved in Democratic primaries and they advocate for a rightwing Israeli government that has spent over a decade supporting Republicans and attacking Democrats. It would be absurd for a Democratic politician to say that they’re against PAC spending unless it’s the spending by this one group that supports right wing policies because criticizing one of the Jewish lobbying groups is antisemitic.
